Skills Course 101
BikeSafe's "bike rodeos" are where kids of all ages get to practice their existing skills in a fun handling course with signs, signals, obstacles, and other challenges. These rodeos are all about practice once a child is familiar riding or an introduction to signs and signals for those using training wheels or balance bikes.
Since 2013, BikeSafe has held youth bike rodeos with many different local partners in Miami-Dade County through grants and philanthropic funding. Contact us if you are interested in joining forces.
BikeSafe also holds similar Learn to Ride events, which are designed exclusively for beginner riders to learn balancing and pedaling without the challenge of obstacles, signals, or signs.
2024: North Miami Library
This rodeo - our second in partnership with the City of North Miami Police Department and North Miami Library - featured a pop-up traffic garden incorporated into the library parking lot and indoor riding skills education classes as part of the City's summer camp experience.
